Sheep Hunter
This is my sheep hunter.
It is a 6.5-284 based on a Winchester model 70.

The action and bolt have been trued, and lightened. The factory barrel has been fitted and fluted. It wears a MPI lightweight fiberglass stock in the Winchester feather weight style, complete with Schnabel fore end.
Topping it off is a Leopold 3-9 ultra light scope in Aluminum quick detach rings.
As you are sure to notice, I am into more than one sighting systems for all my rifles, this one is no different, I came up with a nice small back up rear peep.
It is adjustable for windage, I shot this and tuned it for my load so there is no adjustment for elevation.
But if I use a different front sight it would have elevation adjustments as well. The front sight hood has a cut hole in it to let light into the fiber optic insert.
The whole package was matte hard chromed for weather resistance and long life. This rifle weighs in at just under 7 pounds with 4 rounds, it carries nice and is very well balanced. It will put five into just over a half inch all day and 10 will never stray over an inch with Barnes XLC’s. Not bad for what started out a pawn shop hard case.
